Common adversaries form alliances: modelling complex networks via anti-transitivity
Anti-transitivity captures the notion that enemies of enemies are friends,
and arises naturally in the study of adversaries in social networks and in the
study of conflicting nation states or organizations. We present a simplified,
evolutionary model for anti-transitivity influencing link formation in complex
networks, and analyze the model's network dynamics. The Iterated Local
Anti-Transitivity (or ILAT) model creates anti-clone nodes in each time-step,
and joins anti-clones to the parent node's non-neighbor set. The graphs
generated by ILAT exhibit familiar properties of complex networks such as
densification, short distances (bounded by absolute constants), and bad
spectral expansion. We determine the cop and domination number for graphs
generated by ILAT, and finish with an analysis of their clustering
coefficients. We interpret these results within the context of real-world
complex networks and present open problems

Comportement Sonochimique d'Oxydes d'Actinides Nanostructures
Evolution of Strigamia centipedes (Chilopoda): a first molecular assessment of phylogeny and divergence times
We present a first phylogenetic and temporal framework, with biogeographical insights, for the centipedes of the genus Strigamia, which are widespread predators in the forest soils of the Northern Hemisphere and comprise the evo-devo model species Strigamia maritima. The phylogeny was estimated by different methods of maximum likelihood and Bayesian inference from sequences of two mitochondrial (16S, COI) and two nuclear (18S, 28S) genes, obtained from 16 species from all major areas of the global range of the genus and encompassing most of the overall morphological and ecological diversity. Divergence times were estimated after calibration upon the fossil record of centipedes. We found that major lineages of extant species of Strigamia separated most probably around 60 million years (Ma) ago. The two most diverse lineages diversified during the last 30 Ma and are today segregated geographically, one in Europe and another in Eastern Asia. This latter region hosts a hitherto underestimated richness and anatomical diversity of species, including three still unknown, yet morphologically well distinct species, which are here described as new: Strigamia inthanoni sp. n. from Thailand, Strigamia korsosi sp. n. from the Ryukyu Islands and Strigamia nana sp. n. from Taiwan. The northern European model species S. maritima is more strictly related to the Eastern Asian lineage, from which it most probably separated around 35 Ma ago before the major diversification of the latter

The Tiered Radio Extragalactic Continuum Simulation (T-RECS)
We present the Tiered Radio Extragalactic Continuum Simulation (T-RECS): a
new simulation of the radio sky in continuum, over the 150 MHz-20 GHz range.
T-RECS models two main populations of radio galaxies: Active Galactic Nuclei
(AGNs) and Star-Forming Galaxies (SFGs), and corresponding sub-populations. Our
model also includes polarized emission over the full frequency range, which has
been characterised statistically for each population using the available
information. We model the clustering properties in terms of probability
distributions of hosting halo masses, and use lightcones extracted from a
high-resolution cosmological simulation to determine the positions of haloes.
This limits the sky area for the simulations including clustering to a 25deg2
field of view. We compare luminosity functions, number counts in total
intensity and polarization, and clustering properties of our outputs to
up-to-date compilations of data and find a very good agreement. We deliver a
set of simulated catalogues, as well as the code to produce them, which can be
used for simulating observations and predicting results from deep radio surveys
with existing and forthcoming radio facilities, such as the Square Kilometre
Array (SKA).Comment: 20 pages, 11 figures, accepted by MNRA
Pathology of disappearing bone disease: a case report with immunohistochemical study.
A case of disappearing bone disease of the proximal femur is reported with histopathological and immunohistochemical studies. There was a densely packed cellular tissue, positive to endothelial antibodies, in areas of massive bone destruction. A more differentiated vascular tissue was present where trabecular cancellous or cortical bone was preserved with only focal zones of accelerated bone remodelling. The self-limited course correlates well with two phases of evolution of the histopathological lesions with neoplastic-like proliferation of endothelial cells corresponding to the rapid and massive bone destruction, and a later differentiation of the cells in mature vascular structures, but still with accelerated bone resorption which is partly compensated by appositional activity
